Short: SEGA MasterSystem/GameGear emulator V1.0d
Author: e0fkgkfo@mail.erin.utoronto.ca <Mark Van Hal>
Uploader: e0fkgkfo@mail.erin.utoronto.ca <Mark Van Hal>
Version: 1.0d
Type: misc/emu
Replaces: misc/emu/MasterGear1.0c.lha
MasterGear is a SEGA MasterSystem and GameGear emulator
written for Unix/X11 by Marat Fayzullin (fms@freeflight.com)
and ported to the Amiga by Mark Van Hal.
It requires 68020+ and AGA or a graphics card. ECS/OCS graphics drivers
are included, but the emulator crashes on my A500. I'm not sure if this
problem is because of incompatibility with ECS/OCS or 2.0 (It should work
on a 2.0 ECS/OCS system, but it does not. This will be fixed). It now has
a GUI so it can be run from WorkBench, and new graphic drivers that are
much faster (although some games still require the old drivers from 1.0c
which are also included in this version). Version 1.0d is up to 2.2 times
faster then 1.0c. Still no sound or joystick support.
Included in this archive are :
MasterGear - The main program
MasterGear.info - 4 colour icon.
MG.doc - The documentation from the Unix/X11 version
MGAmiga.doc - Documentation for the Amiga version
dasm - A Z80 disassembler
MasterGear1.0d.readme - This file
StripHeader - Removes 512 byte headers from ROM files
(or last 64 bytes)
Note: If you get a SHORT FILE error message, run StripHeader on the ROM
file and try again. ROM files must be a multiple of 16384 bytes(16k).
Changes in version 1.0d :
-Added a GUI
-New faster screen drivers
-Screen mode requester
-StripHeader can now also remove extra 64 bytes found at the end of some ROMS
-Icon by Craig Howard
-Various fixes and speedups
-GameGear mode now displays colours from proper 512 colour palette,
instead of 64 colour palette (only with new graphic drivers)
Changes in version 1.0c :
-Opens screen on default monitor type not forced to NTSC
-Added StripHeader to remove 512 byte headers found on some ROMS
Changes in version 1.0b :
-Fixed colours
-Removed garbarage on screen in GG mode
-Fixed 8 pixels on the left side of the screen that were cut off in 1.0a
